CHIROPRACTIC CARE
At Gem State Holistic Health we practice using various adjustment methods that present the least risk and provide the most effective pain relief. Prior to initial treatment we do a very comprehensive physical exam. We have onsite digital X-Ray equipment available if necessary, however X-Rays are often not required for most treatment. We use manual techniques including Gonstead technique which is one of the initial chiropractic adjusting techniques developed in the early 1900s. For patients that prefer mechanical techniques we use some low force manipulation techniques. Dr. Harper has a strong background in extremity adjusting including hands, feet, knees, shoulders and elbows and was instrumental in assisting with the writing of an extremity adjusting book back in the late 70s. PEMF (PULSED ELECTROMAGNETIC FIELD)
PEMF Therapy uses a magnetic field generator to send a magnetic pulse into the body. This pulse has a 3-D effect on the body at a cellular level. Not only does it decrease pain and inflammation in injured tissue it relieves muscle spasms and can facilitate repair of torn tendons and fractured bones. It increases oxygen absorption in the cells by up to 200% improving oxygen utilization in diseased or damaged tissue. PEMF also works as a catalyst to increase bone density and muscle mass. Originally designed for NASA to be used in the space suits worn by astronauts to combat the negative effects of a 0-gravity environment. It also causes the body to begin a detoxification process. PEMF is used in conjunction with most Chiropractic adjustments, injuries, IV Therapies and for anyone worried about osteoporosis. PEMF Therapy is a wonderful adjunct to any wellness program as well.
THYROID AND HORMONE DIAGNOSIS AND TREATMENT
We will work with you to diagnose and treat Hormone and Thyroid problems. The initial consult includes history and physical exam, review of any labs/imaging, notes, orders, prescriptions. Expect the initial consult to be around 45 minutes.
